The North West Regional Construction Awards 2015

It’s that time of the year again – the North West hub for Constructing Excellence, the Centre for Construction Innovation and the School of the Built Environment at the University of Salford are, once again, delighted to announce that the ninth annual North West Regional Construction Awards 2015 will take place on Thursday 4 June 2015 at The Palace Hotel, Manchester City Centre.

The Awards provide an exclusive opportunity for the North West built environment sector to celebrate outstanding examples of best practice within their field. They aim to recognise exceptional companies and projects from across the region that have demonstrated strength, passion and commitment in a collaborative and sustainable manner.

We know that the construction industry in the North West is of a high standard and prove it each year as the winners from our region go head to head with other regional winners from across the UK. This event offers the opportunity to achieve the exposure on a national scale at the annual Constructing Excellence National Awards.

Once again the Constructing Excellence Manchester Club, like their sub-regional counterparts, will be judging Construction Project of the Year for Manchester and we will be letting you know after the Awards Ceremony who has won this year following the success of the refurbishment of Manchester Library last year. The shortlisted projects for this year include: –

St. Peter’s Square Redevelopment proposed by Laing O’Rourke, Manchester City Council, Stephen Levrant Heritage Architecture and Heritage Project Management;

  • Eastlands Homes PassivHaus Project proposed by Eastlands Homes Partnerships Ltd, P. Casey, 2E and Regen, GK Consultants and Eric Parks Ecological Architect & Sustainable Consultant;
  • Alexandra Park Restoration proposed by Balfour Beatty Regional Construction, Manchester City Council and URS;
  • Northern rail and Vextrix for Guide Bridge Station NSIP proposed by Vextrix, Northern Rail, Network Rail, Strategic Team Group and Owen Ellis Architects;
  • One more to come.

We are also hoping to produce case studies of the short-listed projects so that we can continue to disseminate best practice from our industry to our colleagues.
